As the first Chairperson of The Kenya Theatre Awards Secretariat, I celebrate the successful establishment of the awards, systems, and people that facilitated the expansion of the awards from covering 31 shows in 2021 (2022 ceremony) to over 500 shows in 2022 (2023 ceremony). This achievement was powered by the immense efforts invested in technology, brand development, personnel management, and strategic leadership. I provided leadership for the first two editions.
When Kenya celebrated its 60th post colonial rule year, The Daily Nation ran a series of news features on the individuals that have made a difference so far in the history of Kenya. I was listed among 60 brave men who have stood up for gender equality in Kenya, including the president Dr. William Ruto, former presidents Daniel Arap Moi, Mwa Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta, as well as the outstanding Bob Collymore (former Safaricom CEO), Raila Odinga (former Prime Minister), Willy Mutunga (former Chief Justice), Peter Ndegwa (Safaricom CEO), David Maraga (former Chief Justice), Dr. James Mwangi (Equity Group Founder) and Kennedy Ombima (King Kaka), among others. This was as a result of my advocatorial works within the arts.
I delivered an engaging presentation at the 6th Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) Annual Conference, after which I learnt that it was a first from the Creative Sector. I was glad to share valuable insights from a research paper titled "A Comprehensive Analysis of the Theatre Industry in Kenya: Insights from 2022 Performances," contributing to the knowledge and understanding of the local theatre landscape, as well as recommendations for policy development.

These included various innovative developments to support community management, festival applications, team collaboration and event management. This streamlined our services and interactions with the public, fast tracking the festival’s growth.
