For Polls and Surveys: A Versatile Voting System
Together with the Creative Studio - Systems Development team at Creative Age, I led the development of a versatile voting web application with broad use cases in diverse sectors, but particularly made for the creative economy.
Objective
Develop an easy to use but powerful voting and vote analysis system for the creative economyOutcome
A versatile voting system for national and global awards, corporate and in-house awards along with employee recognition, as well as polls, surveys, and feedback collection.Unfortunately, the creative economy has consistently shied away from embracing technology, especially with the unsettling fear that technology substitutes the human resource. However, I believe, the more technology is involved, the more human-only traits become extremely valuable and enhanced. Foresight, passion, creativity, empathy, ethics, curiosity, intuition, imagination, emotion, compassion, etc, are all uniquely human and they are becoming the most important assets to creative business.
While this particular piece of technology is not the type to be considered ‘detrimental’ to human practice and involvement, it was meant to initiate and inspire a wave of innovations for the creative economy, showing the benefits of automation, measurement and data crunching, letting the human being focus on the originality that feeds machines to support our processes.
This voting system has been successfully deployed in The Kenya Theatre Awards since 2022, and all other practitioners are welcome to adopt it. Contact me for discussions.
