Preparation For The Future: The Kenya Music Festival

One of the current technological needs for any leading organisation is the ability to automate and connect with the rest of the digital world. Inspired by this, the Kenya Music Festival’s secretariat seeks to institute a foundation for this imminent ecosystem, and especially with the objective of providing enhanced interactions with attendees of the future.

Objective

Lay the groundwork for the adoption of tech-enabled music festival activities in the future, through a web application that will eventually connect with other systems and programs to provide a valuable and resourceful ecosystem for festival communities.

Outcome

A work-in-progress web application currently serving as the Kenya Music Festival’s website.
The shift from manual tasks is slowly happening, with more organisations using technology to run some of their processes for efficiency and scaled outputs. In a bid to slowly but steadily initiate this transformation, the Kenya Music Festival tasked me with leading the setting up of foundational resources required to sustain this tech-enabled future. The goal was to set up a web application that will provide the much needed automation tools. This application will in the near future utilise APIs and provide interactive solutions for the public, as well as information management tools for the KMF staff. I urge more organisations, especially those serving the creative economy, to take advantage of the great benefits the technological scope offers for sustained growth and innovation, in order to compete with other leading sectors.
